Folly Beach is home to many animals, from the sea turtles and shorebirds down by the ocean to the monarch butterflies and hummingbirds in our backyards -- there is no shortage of wildlife around here.
Pollinators are any species that help carry pollen for flowers to pollinate them. Well-known pollinators are bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. Pollinators also consist of birds, bats, bees and even reptiles that travel from plant to plant!
Folly Beach is home to a rich diversity of bird species that thrive in its varied habitats. From the expansive marshlands to the sandy shores and residential gardens, each area hosts its own distinct communities.
Reptiles are a diverse group of cold-blooded animals that have scaly skin and lay eggs.
Amphibians are creatures that can live in both land and water, like frogs and toads.
Mammals are warm-blooded animals that produce live young, like us. They can live in the ocean or on land.
