Parks & Recreation

Head to any of our parks or recreational facilities because we guarantee, whether it be to play basketball, enjoy the sunset, or take your dog on a walk, there's something for everyone.

The parks of folly beach

Our beautiful parks are fit for people of all ages. Some like the Timothy M. Goodwin Pirates Cove playground or Wave Watch Playground feature a children's playground, the perfect place to bring your little ones. Or if you're a paw-rent, we have the Folly Bark Park, with natural shade, water for the pups, pet waste bags, and receptacles for disposing of them. Our Muriel Edge Weathers Shadow Race Park, one of the city's most recently developed spaces, is a peaceful park great for bird watching, going on scenic walks, reading a book on the pergola benches, or just enjoying the serenity of nature.

Community Center
Community Center
The Folly Beach Community Center is home to our public library, the Folly Beach Seniors organization, the Garden Club, the Art Guild, Green Team, and the Civic Club. The building contains 924 square feet of heated/air-conditioned space, two ADA-compliant bathrooms, two ADA-compliant entrances/exits, and a small kitchen with a sink and microwave. If you need a place to relax, the community center is the place to be.
