When my wife Stacy and I first visited Folly Beach, we were immediately drawn to its unique character and welcoming spirit. While the charm of Center Street and our beautiful beaches captured our attention, it was the people and sense of community that made us want to call Folly home.
Today, it is an honor to serve as Mayor of Folly Beach.
My focus as Mayor is to work collaboratively with residents, City Council, staff, businesses, and community organizations to preserve the qualities that make Folly Beach special while preparing our city for the future. I believe effective local government is built on communication, transparency, fiscal responsibility, and practical problem-solving.
Throughout my service to the City, I have worked to bring people together, listen to diverse perspectives, and find balanced solutions to complex issues. Whether addressing infrastructure needs, improving resiliency, protecting neighborhood livability, securing grant funding, or maintaining the balance between residents and visitors, my goal has always been to make decisions that serve the long-term interests of the entire community.
Folly Beach faces both opportunities and challenges in the years ahead. By working together, we can strengthen our infrastructure, improve our resilience to coastal impacts, protect our quality of life, and ensure that future generations continue to enjoy the unique character of our island community.
Personal Profile
I am married to my wife, Stacy, and we are the proud parents of two adult children. Community involvement has always been an important part of my life. On Folly Beach, I volunteer my time helping maintain the websites for the Folly Civic Club, the Folly Beach Exchange Club, and The Folly Current.
I also serve as a mentor to a student at C.E. Williams Middle School through the Be A Mentor program. Previously, I served on the YMCA Board of Directors, where I was honored as Board Member of the Year, and volunteered for five years at the Greenville County Detention Center, leading life-skills classes for incarcerated youth.
After graduating from Clemson University, I began my career with Milliken in the textile industry before joining my family's chemical business. I had the privilege of working alongside my father for five years and later led the company before transitioning it to new ownership.
My professional career subsequently shifted to information technology, where I specialized in developing database-driven solutions for government agencies and private-sector organizations. Today, I continue to design and develop web and mobile applications for a diverse range of clients.
I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the residents of Folly Beach and remain committed to working every day to help ensure our community remains vibrant, resilient, and true to the character that makes it such a special place to call home.
