Folly Beach Stormwater Project Two-Week Look Ahead for Businesses
Over the next two weeks, work on the Center Street Stormwater Project will continue moving toward completion. While construction activity will remain visible, crews are transitioning from major underground work to paving, streetscape improvements, and final finishes.
Center Street East
  • Installation of Powerblock pavers and bioretention (rain garden) features will continue throughout
  • the week.
  • Light pole bases will begin installation on August 3.
  • Asphalt paving is scheduled for August 5–6, weather permitting.
Center Street West
  • Concrete sidewalk and streetscape work will continue from West Erie toward West Arctic.
  • Crews will install additional pavers, trees, and bioretention landscaping.
  • Asphalt paving is scheduled for August 7–8, weather permitting.
What This Means for Businesses
  • Businesses will remain open throughout construction.
  • Customers should continue to use posted pedestrian routes and available parking.
  • Construction activity, equipment, and intermittent lane adjustments should be expected during
  • normal work hours.
  • Once paving is complete, the project will move into its final phase, including permanent striping, lighting, landscaping, and other finishing details.
