Work on the Center Street Stormwater Project is entering its final phases, with paving, landscaping,
lighting, drainage-system cleaning, and other finishing work scheduled over the coming weeks. The schedule below outlines the current anticipated sequence of work through final cleanup and permanent striping.

July 13 – July 18
• Install rain garden structures between E. Huron and E. Hudson, and E. Hudson and E. Erie.
• Install rain garden structure, curb, gutter, and concrete flatwork from W. Erie to W. Cooper.
• Demo sidewalk, existing storm drain, and portions of asphalt roadway from W. Cooper to W. Arctic.
• Install new storm drain, rain garden structure, curb, gutter, and concrete flatwork from W. Cooper to W. Arctic.
• Backfill and patch asphalt roadway from W. Cooper to W. Arctic.
• Mill existing and install new asphalt on side streets between Center Street and 2nd St. E., weather permitting.
• Install new palmetto trees along Center Street.
• Continue installing ribbon curb and PowerBlock pervious pavers along Center Street.

July 20 – July 25
• Apply temporary striping before the newly paved side streets are reopened.
• Begin installing light poles along Center Street.

July 27 – August 1
• Mill existing pavement and install new asphalt on Center Street.
• Apply temporary striping before Center Street is reopened.
• Install rain garden media and plants.
• Complete final camera inspections and drainage-system cleaning.
• Install the loop detection system at the Ashley Avenue intersection.
• Install inscribed bricks from W. Erie to W. Cooper.

August 7 – August 10
• Complete final overall cleanup in preparation for permanent thermoplastic striping.
• Install permanent thermoplastic roadway striping after the required 10-day waiting period.

Important: All newly paved areas will receive temporary striping before reopening. Permanent thermoplastic striping must wait at least 10 days after paving.
