Introducing Overwatch
James Island Public Service District (JIPSD) and the City of Folly Beach are partnering with Eganix to launch Overwatch, a fats, oils, and grease (FOG) compliance and education program designed to help prevent sewer problems and protect our wastewater infrastructure.
Fats, oils, and grease can build up in plumbing and sewer lines, leading to blockages, backups, and costly repairs. Keeping FOG out of the wastewater system is a shared responsibility.
Through Overwatch, local food service establishments will receive education, consistent inspections, and practical guidance on proper grease management. The program is designed to provide clear expectations, identify potential issues, and help businesses address them before they become larger problems.
By working together, we can help protect local businesses, maintain reliable wastewater service, and preserve the infrastructure that serves our island communities.
