The City of Folly Beach has contracted the services of Global Connect for a Community Notification System that may be used to notify all residents in the event of an emergency or other information of importance. We have also contracted with AT&T to obtain the 9-1-1 Database. This database contains every direct dial landline telephone number within the boundaries of the City of Folly Beach. The AT&T 9-1-1 Database at this time does not capture cellular phones or e-mail addresses. This registration process will allow you to register your cellular and/or e-mail addresses. This will ensure that you are on the list to receive notifications from our Community Notification System.

The Community Notification System, formerly the OUTBOUND 911 Alerting System, is an automated system that calls homes and businesses to notify them about serious emergencies. The system will also direct you to take specific actions during an emergency. It will also be used to notify you of other important information, water main breaks, power outages, etc.

In the event of an emergency, public safety personnel will identify the affected area and activate the system. It will automatically call all telephone numbers within a specified area and deliver a recorded message.

• Water Main Breaks
• Power Outages
• City Related Events & Closings
