The City of Folly Beach has 39 employees which includes 13 sworn police officers who also serve as firefighters. The City also has 12 volunteer firemen. At present the City has hired three part-time firemen per shift giving 24 hour fire coverage for the first time in the history of Folly Beach. Major services provided by the City of Folly Beach are police and fire protection, sanitation, building inspection, zoning administration, planning services, code enforcement, animal control, and public works.

Mayor and City Council voted to provide this website as part of a continuing effort to make government more accessible to the people. You will see, at various times, surveys at this site for the purpose of soliciting input from the public so your government can provide you with more efficient and cost effective services. This web site is partially funded by Accommodation Taxes with the intent of increasing the number of visitors to our beautiful island.
